Gerbera Daisy Sympathy

I'm back with my card for the second challenge in Kraftin' Kimmie's Birthday Challenges. The specifics were to make a card using her layout design with some dry embossing. Sadly, I need to get a sympathy card in the mail. But Kimmie's challenge helped me create a suitable (dare I say beautiful?) sympathy card. The Gerbera Daisy is colored with Prismacolor pencils blended with OMS. And YIKES! I cannot find my With Sympathy set. I finally gave up the search and used a beautiful sentiment from Treehouse Stamps. The velvet ric-rack was in my stash. And can you see the embossed frame? It adds some elegance to the card and was done with only my Scor-Pal.

Okay...two challenges down. Can I get four more done before the Birthday Celebrations are over???

How did I ever get by without this?

I was late on the bandwagon and didn't even own this baby until a couple of months ago. With our house move, it wasn't even unpacked for at least another month. Now I'm wondering WHY I waited so long! No more holding my breath when I score a card...either with the Fiskars cutter and a scoring blade or the Fiskars cutter and a bone folder. Now I know it's going to be a perfect fold!

And look what else I did! (Not like this is a brand new invention or anything - can you see my behind-the-times self rolling my eyes?) I just love this lattice background. Hopefully, you can see just how pretty the background cardstock is once it's been scored with the Scor-Pal. I used this tutorial from Debbie Olson to get started. The Everyday Events image was stamped with Palette Noir and colored in with Prismacolor Pencils and OMS. I added some ribbon from my stash, and honestly I just don't even want to give this card away!

If you're like me and procrastinated on getting a Scor-Pal, why not get it from TAC? If you host a FUNshop or have a catalog party with orders totaling $100 or more, you can get the Scor-Pal as your one item at 50% off. You can choose anything in the catalog for your 50% off item....I just think the Scor-Pal is one of those "must-haves" and what better way is there to get it?
